Migrating Java EE to the Eclipse Foundation and Jakarta EE is a process not an event. In the past couple of weeks however, several very important milestones have occurred that deserve to be recognized.
A major milestone was achieved this September 2018! The Jakarta EE TCKs are here and finally open sourced! It was long wished for and waited on by many. But what exactly does that mean?

A major milestone was achieved yesterday! The GlassFish code from Oracle made its home in the Eclipse Foundation’s Git repositories, starting a new era of Eclipse GlassFish. This is another step in making Jakarta EE a vehicle for innovation in cloud-native application development.

Ottawa, Canada - July 31, 2018 - Today we are pleased to announce the results of the Participant and Committer Member elections for representatives to the Jakarta EE Working Group Steering Committee, Specification Committee, and Marketing & Brand Committee. These committees provide governance for the evolution and adoption of Jakarta EE, the community-led platform created from the contribution of Java EE technologies and hosted by the Eclipse Foundation.
